The department of Mechanical Engineering is the largest engineering department of the institute. In addition to course syllabus it caters to its students with class tutorial and state-of-the-art laboratories. Currently the department is offering the undergraduate course (BE) with an intake of 60 seats.
We aim to provide our students with a perfect blend of intellectual and practical experiences that helps them to serve our society and address a variety of needs. The department is fully equipped with labs, workshop with modern equipment required for the growth of students as mechanical engineers. At the end of our program, students are prepared for entry-level work as a mechanical engineer, where a fundamental engineering background constitutes a desirable foundation. Academic course work and projects are designed to endow students with the ability to apply knowledge of science, mathematics, and engineering, and the capability to work effectively in multidisciplinary streams, providing leadership and technical expertise.   • Mechanical engineering is one of the oldest branch of engineering. It is also referred to as the ‘mother’ branch of engineering.
  • Almost all inventions during the ancient period and a vast majority in the modern era are direct contributions of one or the other application of mechanics.
  • Traditionally, mechanical engineers have to deal with concepts such as mechanics, thermodynamics, robotics, kinematics, structural analysis, fluid mechanics and many others.
  • Mechanical engineers also contribute in the development of various engines, power plant equipment, heating and cooling systems and other simple and complex machinery.
  • Mechanical engineers not only design new mechanical systems but they are also responsible for testing, maintaining and manufacturing them.
